Flame Off

I have been looking forward to this weekend for such a long time.

Big responsibilities, helping to organise the competition. The judges took their task seriously.

I went to the TUC rally back in March, protesting against the speed of the government cuts. It was a great day, and a brilliant atmosphere.

Times past

Visited a re-enactment market. Chain mail armour, leather drinking bottles, hats, gowns, horn and bone drinking vessels, hand made brass needles, brocades, swords and daggers, viking shields, soda ash glass, and loads more. We came away with food, drink and leather hide. Whoops. Cant find the pics. Will add them in later.

Assume the position!

My friend has shown me the correct way to take pictures of my beads and beadwork.

Expect to see an improvement in my photographic skills!!!

Too much or too little

Have I been neglecting this blog because either there is too much going on in my life, or because there is too little of interest to talk about. Well, I'll let you decide.

I have been collecting and reminding companies for their sponoship prizes for the GBUK competition. Flame Off is less than three weeks away, and I need to start organsing the prizes> so that's lots of time on the computer, and some time on the phone.

I am also taking part in another exchange of beads, and the deadline for that is next week. I have to make 15 different styles of beads. I have 5, so there is still a long way to go. Rather than make a single focal bead, I though it would be nice to add in a couple of spacers, or to make a set of beads. Yes that is more work. Whoever said I take the easy option!!!

I promised more pictures, and I will try to do some more very soon. Don't want to lose your interest now, do I?

Here's some I made earlier

Have been making some little charms, in two styles. Lampwork, and beaded beads.
They are for an exchange I am taking part in. I can't decide which are my favourite.

Neglect!

I have been a bit neglectful of this blog lately. Bad me!

But just to let you know I have been to two bead fairs in the last 3 weeks (Ardingly, and Kempton Park), and of course spent way too much money. Nothing to show for my purchases yet though.
I am working on some beaded beads for charms. I have lots of samples, but nothing that I am really happy with. I am going to move onto using some cats eye beads in the next set. So hope to have pics soon.
