A little bit of magic
This is a glass reaction technique refined and shared by Jacqueline Parkes (Gems in Bloom). See her work at http://www.gemsinbloom.com/
Of course my beads are nowhere near as impressive as those produced by Jacqueline, but for my first attempts I was happy with them.

Adventures with my aunty
Here is my aunty on her first day at her new luncheon club. She had a busy morning being artistic, working on a canvas interpreting the new works of David Hockney. As you can see, she was in charge of the shrubbery section. Later in the afternoon, she got a cream tea. I think her big smile proves she had an enjoyable day.

New year, new look.
I have changed the look of the blog, because I think it shows up the pictures to better effect.
And I know its a bit late, but
"A very happy new year to you all".

Florals
I had a go with floral style beads, using, yes you guessed it, silver and reactive glass for the flowers. The results were impressive. I think there will be a few more experimental combinations to try out in the next few weeks.
The pink/pastel combination has a cool multilayered effect in the petals. And the blue one has two layers of flowers, the upper layer is slightly more ghostly. I really like the overall effect.
However, maybe there is something missing? I should probably add some vine detail to the beads. I haven't quite figured out how I'll tackle that particular feature. Random or precise. Knowing my skills, I think random will be the way to go.
